The Class of
'70 Speaks Up
Memory Lane:
|
Dear Classmates, The planning process has just begun for our 40th Reunion (May 2010). We are looking for ideas for program content for our Class Dinner as well as ideas about venue (on or off campus). It has been suggested that we could have a speaker or two for no more than 10 to 15 minutes. Your thoughts would be appreciated as to topics (e.g. RU today, sports programs, etc.) and/or speakers, especially if any of you have any contacts. In addition, Reunion volunteers are always welcome. Gentlemen, elsewhere at this Class website, you'll find details on the 35th Reunion (May 2005) as well as plenty of photos from the day. Lots of fun was had by all. We wore tie-dyed shirts as our uniform and I cannot tell you have many compliments we received for originality! Do you have ideas for a 40th Reunion uniform? We want to hear from you. It's a cliche, but I'll say it because it is true: this class is only as good as we are. We have been blessed with energetic, helpful classmates. But we can always use more. This very much is a group with an open door! On another front, the Class continues to see much good coming from our Class of 1970 Scholarship program. We had eight students receiving Class of 1970 $1000 scholarships for the academic year 2005-2006. Several are children of alums; the others have no connection to the class. The recipients are as follows: Anne Zaks Douglass College Sophomore
Rachel Duvilla
Cook
College
Junior
Tiffany McLean Rutgers College Sophomore
Greta Nelson
Douglass
College
Sophomore
Adeena Desouza Rutgers College Sophomore
Thomas Deamus Rutgers
College
Junior
Erin Birtwistle Cook College Freshman Jennifer Carlin Rutgers College Freshman
Gregg Anderson and I attended the annual Rutgers College Scholarship
Reception in April and were able to visit with two students, Tiffany McLean and
Jennifer Carlin.
Please do not hesitate to contact me or any Class Officer with any ideas, suggestions or concerns. Best regards, President, RC '70 Images of Rutgers are provided courtesy of Rutgers University. |
